Key Takeaways on Leaving California for a Real Good Life
Here are my top three takeaways from my conversation with Stevie & Sazan Hendrix.
Realize Your Enough Point
As we build wealth for our families, there’s going to come a time when you’ll realize that more wealth or more stuff isn’t going to improve your life that much more.
At that point, do your best to recognize that gaining back hours in your day is a better form of wealth creation.
With more time, you can take care of your health, grow your family bond and realize dreams you never thought were possible.
Create More Margin
Does it feel like you’re rushing from thing to thing without time to breath in between?
It’s time to create more margin in your schedule.
Just like it’s important to declutter our homes when things get too disorganized, we also need to declutter and organize our schedules.
Chaos and stress are a recipe for parental and marriage burnout. Find some areas to create margin in your schedule today… even if it's just 15 minutes! Over time, you’ll be able to create more time and start living the life you always wanted.
Embrace Gratitude
Many scientific studies have shown that practicing gratitude can be a key component of a happy life.
I find that when I’m feeling down or feeling lost on my journey, taking time to write down what I’m grateful for helps a lot.
Even on those really bad days …
- I’m grateful to be able to run
- I’m grateful that I have a roof over my head to keep me warm
- I’m grateful that I have access to clean drinking water whenever I want it
This simple reflection, whether it's in prayer, meditation, or journaling, can help you realize your real good life isn’t too far from you already.
