Staedtler Pens and Pencils

Founded in Nuremberg in 1835, Staedtler is one of Germany's oldest manufacturing companies. Originally set up as a pencil manufacturing company by Johann Sebastian Steadtler, this successful company was producing 63 types of pencil within five years. Progress continued and by 1866 Staedtler was producing two million pencils annually and employing 54 people. In the 21st century, Staedtler employs more than 3500 people worldwide in 21 manufacturing and distribution units.
