Best Pen I've ever held in my hand, EVER

Okay, you might think that title is an exaggeration and I am a newbie to fountain pens. Not so. I have used fountain pens since I was about seven years old, which was more than a half century ago. I splurged and finally got the sterling silver fountain pen in fine. My mistake was not splurging sooner. The pen is substantial in size, perfectly balanced for use whether posted or not, and because of perfect balance feels light, has perfect ink flow, and makes writing easy. Should I not use the pen for several days due to some family emergency or whatever, and the pen writes perfectly from the moment it is uncapped. Once the pen surprised me by stopping all writing. It was completely out of ink. Sigh. Otherwise, not a single complaint. Tilting the nib a bit gives beautiful variation to the line, and when I write for very long periods, my hand is not fatigued because this is writing instrument, not just a pen. Bonus is the pen encourages writer to use all those bits of advice from your second grade teacher to get great penmanship. In addition, the service from The Pen Company is superb. Everything I ordered arrived well packed and promptly. Finally, I agree with Twain Junior that the Classic Fountain Pen in silver is superior to the Yard-O-Led. The nib is so smooth it is like butter and this is just the best pen ever.

U.S. customer here. Absolutely thrilled with this pen. Gorgeous, simplistic yet elegant aesthetics. Superb quality, weight, and feel. The bi-colour, 18-carot gold nib is beautifully designed and is by far the smoothest I’ve written with (including Sailor professional gear 21k in fine). It is, of course, a bit broader as a western nib than it’s equivalent Japanese counterparts, although the line width is not significantly different. The nib perfectly combines hardness and feedback with a soft feel. Never scratchy and superb ink flow at just the right rate (not overly wet). James and the customer service at ThePenCo was outstanding. The best I’ve dealt with. Updated me at every step of the process and we’re very accommodating. The personal laser engravement was flawless and a beautiful touch.

At least twice as thick silver compared to a Yard-O-Led. Smoothest nib possible. Great style and superior quality. Love this pen!

Dear Sir/Madam, is there a perceptible weight difference between the sterling silver and wood editions? Best regards, Chenbo
The weights of the Classic fountain pen range (including cap) are as follows: Wooden finishes: 42g Platinum finish: 42g Sterling Silver: 50g Giving an 8g difference between the Sterling Silver pen compared to the rest of the range.
